"100 milhões por 100 milhões!"
More than a thousand members of municipal councils of education from all Brazilian states adopt the 100 Million campaign.
The event took place on the occasion of the national meeting of UNCME (União Nacional dos Conselhos Municipais de Educação), held in November 27, 28 and 29 in the city of Ilheus, Bahia. The act was organized by the Brazilian Campaign for the Right to Education, in partnership with Fórum Nacional de Prevenção e Erradicação do Trabalho Infantil (FNPETI). It also had strong participation with an excellent speech made by Alanna Mangueira, youth coordinator of 100 Million in Brazil.
Parents, teachers, representatives of different sectors of civil society, public policy makers in the municipalities, and all members of the education municipal councils, committed to take action at the very local level, engajing youth through an intersectoral approach for the inclusion of the most excluded children and youth that have their rights violated, who suffer explotation, and who live in situations of extreme poverty.
